Graduate Student Resources

Here are some resources I created for my PDC.

Grant Resources:

  • COS resources: COS has a database of grant opportunities and they will email you when a grant that fits your criteria is posted!
  • Grant Seeking in an Electronic Age (Part of the Allyn & Bacon Series in Technical Communication) by Victoria Mikelonis, Signe T. Betsinger, and Constance E. Kampf : Good Grant book for our area .
  • NEH Digital Humanities: There are several grant opportunities if you are doing digital humanities work. Checkout their website and one of the grants (Digital Humanities Start-Up Grants).
  • WPA Grants: The WPA invites "proposals for research projects that investigate issues and practices in writing program administration. Maximum awards of $2000 may be given; average awards are $1000" . Deadline for 2009 was January, 30 (end of January seems to be a typical deadline).
  • CPTSC: CPTSC "funds projects that contribute to our collective knowledge about all aspects of program administration". Grants are up to $1,500. Deadlines tend to be end of January to start of March. For 2009 it is March 1st.
  • STC: The STC research grants program is currently " being re-envisioned and reformulated". Previously they offered $10,00 research grants. Here is some information on the grant application process the recent past.
  • Computers & Writing Conference: C&W offers a travel grant (that covers at least some of the conference expenses) for students and non-tenure track faculty.
  • GSU: GSU Provides some funding opportunities including the dissertation grant.
