Writing reflection
We will spend time in class today responding to this writing prompt.
Flynn and others argue that females' writing, thinking, language, moral development, and more are based in the concepts of interaction, connection, relationships/relational, emotions, the personal and interpersonal, nature, and the body; whereas males' writing, thinking, language, moral development, and more are based in the concepts of achievement, separation, individualism, independence, abstract thought, separation with or differences from nature, technology, and mind over body. Do you think that the gendered types of writing that Flynn found are reflected in
- other types of writing (not first year composition writing as Flynn finds)?
- research?
- publications and related issues?
- types of writing?
- writing and publication opportunities?
Do you think that there might be other gender differences beyond these methods of writing, thinking, language, and moral development (and more) in these five above areas?

- 3 Peer Critiques of peers' Book Reviews
- A week of writing (write for at least 30 minutes each day for any five days during this week. Work on your peer critiques does not count. Any other academic/scholarly writing is fine, but preferably this will be work on the article for this class. You will hand in a Reading Response on 3/26 discussing how this week and providing any examples as desired. The reading response will count double).
