Hooray, yesterday was my last day of lectures officially for my B.A, pending that I pass my upcoming 2xassignments and 1xexam. Was born and bred in the deep south of Tasmania, in a little sleepy fishing villiage called Southport, which arguably has the most southern pub in the world. It was a small town, and we lived by the beach, with me and my brothers running round the paddock being scared, and simultaneously scaring cattle. Moved to Hobart for most of my schooling which I really enjoyed. After school, with a lack of funding not allowing me to go and do a Gap year overseas, I enrolled at University of Tasmania in a Commerce/Law degree, which I surprisinlgy gained great marks in my first year. Made a new mate though this year, and after both being unsatified and unfulfilled with what we were doing decided to recruit another friend and book a one-way ticket to Sydney, I think with ideas of being actors. The move was fun; one big adventure. With hardships and great times. I have now been in Sydney for almost 4 years, and started my Arts degree after working numerous numbers of mundane jobs. Have lived in Chippendale/Darlington (a questionable suburb) for about 20 months. Love this little area; so close to uni, very community feel about it, one of the best pubs is only 117 steps away. However 19 months ago I went and handed in my resume and secured myself a bar job there. Usually this may have ruined the whole 'local pub' experience for me, but it has not. Although sometimes the locals think they can just say anything to you ("you look shocking today" "you need a good sleep" "what the hell are you wearing") lke they have some sort of authority over you. Apart from that though it a great place to drink and work. So the future? In 6 weeks, today, I fly with a friend to Lima, where I will begin a two and a half trip around South America, then flying out of Buenos Aires to Madrid, again to begin a trip around Europe, followed by a fortnight each on the east and west cost of the States before heading back to Sydney to start, apparenlty, a 'real job'. We shall see.
