Hello! My name is Lara Sofia Romero. I am a sophomore, or 2nd year student at Stanford University. Stanford, is a private university located approximately 40 miles southeast of San Francisco and approximately 20 miles northwest of San Jose. Stanford is situated adjacent to the city of Palo Alto, on the San Francisco Peninsula. At Stanford I am planning to major in Economics and International Relations. I have a deep interest in learning about the connections between culture, politics, and the economy. I truly enjoy doing community service and working to preserve human rights. Beyond academics, some of my other interests include dance, theater, and music. I have been dancing since I was young. The many types of dance styles that I do include ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop. I also really enjoy speaking foreign languages. Currently I am able to speak French, Spanish and Chinese, but I hope to be able to learn more languages and travel to new places.
