My name is Ryan Woessner and I am currently a sophomore at Stanford University, where I am studying the exciting fields of Political Science and Economics. Originally from the Twin Cities of Minnesota, I came to Stanford two years ago in search of warmer weather and the opportunity to connect with students and faculty from around the world. Experiencing international culture has always been one of my greatest passions. For the past decade, I have had the privilege of traveling around the globe, from Australia to China, through the sport of unicycling. Since 2000, I have competed in eight North American Unicycling Championships and four Unicycling World Championships, accumulating a total of 26 national and 8 international expert-level freestyle titles. This summer I plan to explore take my unicycle to the road, literally, by riding across Nova Scotia on one wheel. Besides traveling, I am obsessed the world of politics. As the Elections Commissioner for undergraduate and graduate student elections on campus, I have the responsibility of establishing a fair, legitimate and innovative campaign process while at the same time creating opportunities for students to become educated about the Stanford elections process. One day I hope to go to law school for intellectual property and copyright law.
